I train these wonderful dogs to tell a person
with diabetes that their blood sugar is dropping. They are totally dedicated
to the person they are trained for. They go to the mall, restaurants, doctor
visits, movies, grocery store and anyplace else their person goes.
We demand perfect obedience from these dogs
and they give their all. They love to play ball, go for long walks, or just
relax with their person, but they never go off duty. What makes these dogs
happy is being with the person they love.
Although I have trained dogs for fifteen
years I owe a debt of gratitude to Bev Swartz and Diane Long from All
Purpose Canines for sharing their training techniques with me.
